Our children may be returning back to school, but we're not going back to normal. This year in Illinois, families and educators are teaming up to collect our #RightToCare. We demand early childhood care families can afford, access and trust and fair pay to educators that dedicate their lives to our children. Head Start Programs Matter

Hi, My name is Iliana Alban, I work at Carole Robertson Center for Learning at Albany Park, I am a Family Support Specialist. I have been working in childcare for 10 years, during this time I have learned so much from the families and children I have served. I have worked as a teacher aid, lead teacher and now, family support specialist, and in all of my roles I have always tried to make a difference in the lives of the families I served. Many families not only in the city but in the country struggle to find affordable childcare and quality education for their young children. I have many stories to share, but the one that I hold dear is this one single mother of an infant child who shared with me her struggles and goals for her and her child. She had struggle with finding affordable housing, a job and she had just left an unhealthy relationship. I worked closely with this family to find them affordable housing and after a couple months, mother found a job and a new apartment.
