Our children may be returning back to school, but we're not going back to normal. This year in Illinois, families and educators are teaming up to collect our #RightToCare. We demand early childhood care families can afford, access and trust and fair pay to educators that dedicate their lives to our children. The Need for Affordable, Quality Childcare

By Jamie Best

My family could no longer afford quality childcare when our second child was born, since the cost was more than my husband's salary. We made the difficult decision to transition to a single-income household until our children are both school-aged. My husband now stays at home with our children while I work full-time. It is very difficult to make ends meet, let alone build any savings. I have a lot of stress about what would happen to our family if I lost my job.
